Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pru Dent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Kolodin! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dent misses the shot to the body. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Kolodin throws a leg kick but Dent sees it coming and checks it nicely. Dent ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kolodin moves away. Kolodin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dent throws out the jab. Nice body punch from Dent. Dent displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kolodin. Kolodin fails with the takedown and Dent counters with a two punch combo. Kolodin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dent.
Dent ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dent keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kolodin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dent looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dent wants to control but Kolodin postures up. Dent is trying to improve his position. Kolodin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dent has escaped the position, nice work there. Dent tries to bench press Kolodin off him but Kolodin keeps the position. Kolodin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dent is not content to let Kolodin control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dent struggling a bit here. Kolodin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Sloppy strikes there by Kolodin. Kolodin lands some shots froms side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kolodin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dent has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Dent's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kolodin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. A lull in the action here as Kolodin stalls from top position. Kolodin looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dent is avoiding damage well.
Kolodin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kolodin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kolodin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dent, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kolodin is looking to take a break and control but Dent is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kolodin content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dent is not content to let Kolodin control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alan Kolodin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kolodin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kolodin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Dent looks to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Dent just misses with a punch to the body.
Alan Kolodin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dent misses with a looping right. Kolodin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dent defends it nicely. Pru Dent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Kolodin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kolodin scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Kolodin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dent throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dent wants to clinch. Kolodin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dent is fending him off so far but Kolodin persists. Nope, Dent circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dent closes the distance and clinches. A right handed body shot lands from Dent.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Dent as Kolodin tries to tie him up. Kolodin jumps guard but Dent stands there with Kolodin around his waist. Kolodin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dent gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kolodin regains guard.
Dent not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kolodin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dent defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dent is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Dent being controlled here momentarily. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kolodin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dent can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dent has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kolodin looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Dent is defending well. Kolodin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Dent has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kolodin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
