Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ip Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kung Pow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Man might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ip Man! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kung Pow! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pow swings away with a body shot that misses
and Man counters with a good low kick that Pow was not able to check. Man loads up on a big right hand but Pow slips the punch. Man misses with a low kick. Man has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Man there as he acknowledges the shot. Man tries for a takedown but Pow sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pow defending well as Man loads up on a big left hand. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Pow misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Man.

and Man counters with a low kick, right behind Pow 's knee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pow wants to clinch and Man makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Man shoots for a takedown but Pow saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Man has managed to clinch.

Man stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Man working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Man slowing the pace effectively. Man avoiding damage as Pow throws knees to the body.
Man blocks a body shot from Pow. A head punch blocked on the inside by Man. Man pushes Pow back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Man breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pow misses with a hook. Man keeps the fight on the outside. Pow misses with a body punch
and Man counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pow gets caught napping as Man dives in and scores a takedown. Pow manages to retain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man controlling from the top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ip Man wasn't doing enough on the ground. Pow slaps away a takedown attempt from Man, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ip Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Man moves away. Pow tries to clinch but Man moves out of range. Pow misses with an uppercut
and Man counters with a body kick. Man misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pow misses with an uppercut. Man saw that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ip Man dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Man throws a body kick the misses and Pow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Man tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pow paws at him with a jab and circles away. Man keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pow throws a sloppy body shot
and Man counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pow on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Man pivots, looking for a leg kick but Pow is out of range and Man settles back down. Kung Pow is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Man. Pow swings widly with a right hand
and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pow's guard. Pow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Man controls from within his opponent's guard. Pow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Man. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kung Pow has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Pow misses with a left hand and Man counters with an outside leg kick.
Man tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pow misses with a hook to the body
and Man counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. No luck for Man with that takedown attempt. Pow misses with a lunging right hand
and Man holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Good body shot from Pow.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Pow fails to land. Pow misses with a hook from the clinch. A bit of stalling here from Man.

Pow looks to throw an elbow but misses. Man misses with a body punch.
Man can't find room to land a body shot as Pow controls the action.
Still in the clinch, Pow scores with a nice short uppercut. Pow working some nice short punches in the clinch. A short left from Man. Man throws a head punch that misses. Pow misses with a punch on the inside.
Pow misses with some punches.
Pow creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pow has a couple of punches blocked by Man.
Pow is trying to maintain a safe position but Man gets an underhook and turns Pow into the cage. Pow fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Man lands a body punch. Pow swings wildly with an uppercut but Man uses good head movement to avoid it. Pow lands a hook to the side of the head. Pow is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Pow lands on the inside with an uppercut. Man comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Man tries to throw a body punch but Pow avoids it by throwing Man back against the cage. Man breaks from the clinch.
Pow has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Man. Pow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Man manages to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ip Man dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Man counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pow keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Man is keen to just control but Pow is a slippery customer. Well, if Man is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Man shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Man staying out of range there. Pow tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Man throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Man shoots in looking for a takedown but Pow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Man's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pow misses with a looping left. Kung Pow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pow tries to clinch up but Man circles away and keeps his distance. Pow lands a jab to Man's midsection. Man clinches up with Pow and pushes him back against the cage. Pow tries a body shot but Man blocks it.
Man doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pow tries to land knees in the clinch but Man avoids the damage to the body. Man's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Man avoiding damage as Pow throws knees to the body.
Pow working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Ip Man is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A short right from Man on the inside. Man dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. A right hook to the body lands for Man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pow misses with a shot to the kidneys.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pow. Pow throws a head punch that misses. Man breaks from the clinch.
Pow tries to clinch up so Man counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that's the end of the fight! Ip Man showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Man, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
