Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Alfedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Alfedo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell works Alfedo's body with a nice hook.
Alfedo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Liddell circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alfedo is defended easily by Liddell.
Liddell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alfedo.

Alfedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Liddell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Liddell wants to control but Alfedo is keeping him busy.

Alfedo is staying active underneath Liddell, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Liddell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Liddell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alfedo is just riding it out for now. Liddell eventually gives up the hold.
Liddell is stalling here. Alfedo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Liddell seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Alfedo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Liddell regains half guard.
Liddell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Liddell is looking to control Alfedo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Liddell avoid being mounted?
Liddell is looking for a sweep. Alfedo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Alfedo is working for a kimura but Liddell is defending it quite comfortably.

Alfedo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Liddell is just riding it out for now. Alfedo eventually gives up the hold.

Liddell manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Liddell wants to clinch up but Alfedo keeps it at a distance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Liddell doesn't manage to clinch there - Alfedo circles away.
Liddell tries to clinch but Alfedo moves out of range.
Liddell throws a series of punches but Alfedo avoids them all with ease.

Liddell is looking for a sweep.

Liddell slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Liddell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alfedo avoids it really well and circles away.

Alfedo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Alfedo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Liddell has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Alfedo but great work by Liddell.
Alfedo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Liddell's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Liddell is trying to work for a kimura but Alfedo is defending well.

Liddell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Alfedo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Liddell tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Liddell is looking to advance position but Alfedo won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Trent Alfedo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Liddell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Alfedo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Liddell napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Alfedo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liddell, who protects the arm well.
Alfedo working the strikes but Liddell uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Liddell throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Liddell is trying to maintain the position but Alfedo is very close to passing his half guard.

Alfedo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Liddell tries a head kick but it misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Liddell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Alfedo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Liddell!

Alfedo stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Alfedo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Alfedo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Liddell - that will leave a mark!
Alfedo shoots in for a takedown but Liddell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Alfedo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alfedo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Liddell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alfedo, pushing him back against the cage.
Liddell drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Alfedo has Liddell pressed against the cage, preventing Liddell from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Liddell is trying to push Alfedo away but Alfedo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Alfedo doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Liddell tries to pull guard but Alfedo won't allow it.
Liddell wants a takedown but no success here.
Alfedo has a couple of punches blocked by Liddell.
Alfedo swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Alfedo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Liddell's efforts to push away.
Liddell is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Liddell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alfedo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Trent Alfedo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Alfedo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
