Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Mcpeeny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcpeeny looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Yap throws a series of punches but Mcpeeny avoids them all with ease. Yap swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mcpeeny counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Yap slips under a jab. Yap tries to move into range but Mcpeeny moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Yap throws a poor cross that misses
and Mcpeeny counters with an outside leg kick.
Yap falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mcpeeny cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mcpeeny wants to clinch up but Yap keeps it at a distance. Yap slips under a jab. Yap swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mcpeeny counters with a nice uppercut. Yap throws a poor cross that misses
and Mcpeeny counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yap misses with a left hand and Mcpeeny counters by moving into the clinch. Yap blocks the elbow strike.
Mcpeeny with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Yap is trying to break free. Yap can't break the clinch.
Mcpeeny comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like James Yap has been cut. Mcpeeny lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Mcpeeny lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Mcpeeny misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Yap.
Mcpeeny lands a nice uppercut. Yap is trying to push Mcpeeny away but Mcpeeny has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcpeeny lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Yap backwards. Mcpeeny comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Mcpeeny with a knee to the head.
Yap looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mcpeeny throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Yap wants to break the clinch but can't.

Mcpeeny lands an elbow inside that Yap shrugs off. Mcpeeny gets through Yap's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Mcpeeny lands an elbow just above Yap 's eye. Mcpeeny lands a right hand. Mcpeeny lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Yap backwards. Yap is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Mcpeeny lands an elbow inside. Yap wants to break free but Mcpeeny has control.
Mcpeeny pushes off an throws an elbow but Yap leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Yap's face as he tries to break the clinch. Yap blocks an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Mcpeeny dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Yap's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A shot to the body from Yap misses and Mcpeeny counters with a nice leg kick. Yap has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mcpeeny finds it's way round the side to connect with Yap's head. Yap misses with a jab to the body
and Mcpeeny holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Mcpeeny lands a nice elbow. Mcpeeny tries to land a knee to the head but Yap blocks with his arms.
Nice elbow from Mcpeeny. Mcpeeny throws a punch but it's blocked by Yap. Yap tries to break free but Mcpeeny pushes him back against the cage. Mcpeeny tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mcpeeny lands an elbow inside. Mcpeeny misses with an elbow over the top. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mcpeeny creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mcpeeny has Yap pressed against the cage, preventing Yap from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Yap wants to get back to striking at distance but Mcpeeny won't allow it.
Yap takes an elbow to the temple. Mcpeeny looking to throw knees to the head but Yap is blocking nicely.

That has opened up James Yap's cut even more. Mcpeeny working some nice short punches in the clinch. Mcpeeny lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Yap blocks an elbow strike from Mcpeeny.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mcpeeny landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Mcpeeny comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Mcpeeny throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Yap blocks it with crossed arms. Mcpeeny gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

James Yap's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Mcpeeny dips a shoulder and cracks Yap with a mighty uppercut! Yap falls back against the cage and Mcpeeny unloads with a barrage of strikes! Yap is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Mcpeeny screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
