The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Giant holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Giant working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Giant tries to land a knee to the head but Johnson blocks with his arms.

It looks like Alex Johnson has been cut.

Johnson looks gassed!
Giant gets through Johnson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Johnson is trying to break free.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Giant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Giant counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Giant to acknowledge the strikes.
Giant digs a good hook to Johnson's body.
Johnson moves forwards but Giant connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Giant! Johnson is out on his feet! Giant rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Johnson is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Johnson is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
