Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Ctvrtlik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mano Nolo! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ctvrtlik closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nolo quickly recovers to half guard. Ctvrtlik is trying to work for a kimura but Nolo is defending well.
Ctvrtlik is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Nolo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ctvrtlik is working away from the top position though. Ctvrtlik is looking to take a break and control but Nolo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nolo is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nolo is trying to get back to full guard. Nolo has hold of Ctvrtlik's hands but Ctvrtlik slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nolo wants to get back to his feet. Ctvrtlik wants to take a breather but Nolo is having none of it. Nolo trying to control here.
Ctvrtlik not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nolo actively working from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ctvrtlik is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nolo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ctvrtlik. Ctvrtlik tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Ctvrtlik is trying to control. Nolo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nolo wants to improve his position but Ctvrtlik is controlling well.
Ctvrtlik is keen to just control but Nolo is a slippery customer. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ctvrtlik is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nolo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Bob Ctvrtlik has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nolo tries for a takedown but Ctvrtlik circles away easily and Ctvrtlik counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nolo looks gassed! Ctvrtlik content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Nolo trying to hold on to Ctvrtlik's head to control him but Ctvrtlik postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nolo is trying to stand.
Ctvrtlik trying to control from Nolo's half guard. Nolo has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Ctvrtlik trying to control the position from guard on top but Nolo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ctvrtlik wants to pass the guard but Nolo is keeping the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Ctvrtlik dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ctvrtlik will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ctvrtlik shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Nolo is defending against the submission attempts here by Ctvrtlik.
Ctvrtlik wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Nolo uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Ctvrtlik wants to control from the top but Nolo keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ctvrtlik wants to pass the guard but Nolo is keeping the position. Nolo looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Ctvrtlik postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nolo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ctvrtlik, into his guard. Nolo wants to control from the top but Ctvrtlik keeps moving. Ctvrtlik escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nolo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Nolo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ctvrtlik keeping moving, preventing Nolo from controlling successfully. Ctvrtlik looking for a guillotine here but Nolo defends easily.
Ctvrtlik is trying to control the position but Nolo postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ctvrtlik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nolo trying to control but Ctvrtlik is working from the bottom. Ctvrtlik working a defensive guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Ctvrtlik dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Ctvrtlik tries for a takedown but Nolo circles away easily and Nolo counters with a single leg into guard. Ctvrtlik didn't expect that. Nolo trying to control the position from guard on top but Ctvrtlik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ctvrtlik looking to control.
Ctvrtlik is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nolo defends well. Nolo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Ctvrtlik keeping moving, preventing Nolo from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nolo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mano Nolo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Excellent takedown into side control there by Nolo. Nolo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ctvrtlik wants to control but Nolo postures up. Ctvrtlik is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nolo asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nolo wants to take a breather but Ctvrtlik manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Nolo. Nolo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ctvrtlik is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ctvrtlik has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And that's the end of the fight! Mano Nolo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ctvrtlik has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
