Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vandread Mac!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Riley counters with a body kick that stops Mac in his tracks momentarily.

Riley instigates a clinch.
Mac swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A short body shot lands from Mac as the two fighters clinch.
Mac is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Riley pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Riley misses with a knee strike.
Mac tries for a takedown but Riley manages to get underhooks.
Jackson Riley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vandread Mac.
Riley throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mac blocks it with crossed arms.

Mac wants the takedown. Riley is fighting it off but Mac persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Riley's guard against the cage.
Mac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mac is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mac accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mac tries to free his leg and advance position but Riley is retaining full guard.
Mac is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Riley has his feet on Mac's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jackson Riley will probably get the nod.

That's time! Riley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Mac shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Riley is trying to defend but Mac finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Riley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mac's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mac's back!

Riley is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mac is defending well though. Riley let's go of the attempt for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Riley is controlling the position but Mac somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Mac is looking for a sweep. Riley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Riley passes into side control, despite Mac's attempt to control the position.
Mac is trying to control Riley's posture but Riley avoids it.

Mac prevents Riley from improving position.
Mac tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Riley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mac keeps working.
Mac can't do much from the bottom here.
Riley remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
