Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tony Grey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Onepunch KO! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! KO tries to clinch up and Grey counters with a nice low kick that buckles KO's knee momentarily. Grey throws a head kick but KO moves out of range.
Grey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
KO wants to clinch and Grey counters with a slapping leg kick. KO closes the distance looking to clinch and Grey counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Onepunch KO seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. KO tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Grey to counter with a crisp jab. Grey cracks the inside of KO's front leg. Grey circles away from the clinch attempt and Grey counters with a right hand to the body. Grey throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent KO stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. KO tries to clinch but Grey moves away and Grey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. KO moves to clinch but Grey breaks away and Grey counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Grey bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! KO moves to clinch but Grey breaks away and Grey counters with a good low kick that KO was not able to check.
That's one minute gone in the round. KO closes the distance looking to clinch and Grey makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. KO closes the distance but Grey moves to the side and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. The fighters circle momentarily. Grey darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Grey keeps KO at a distance using the push kick. KO tries to clinch and Grey counters with an outside leg kick.
KO tries to clinch but Grey moves away and Grey counters with a slapping leg kick. KO wants to clinch but Grey slips to the side and KO takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sloppy strikes from Grey. Those never looked like landing. Grey turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. KO shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. KO is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. KO wants to clinch and Grey counters with a good low kick that KO was not able to check. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grey connects with a nice looking jab.
KO takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Grey goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
KO is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. KO gets tackled into the cage by Grey. Grey maintains the clinch. KO is still on wobbly legs! Can Grey finish him? A frustrated look appears on KO's face as he tries to break the clinch. Grey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
KO seems to have recovered his senses. KO wants to clinch but Grey slips to the side and Grey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. KO tries to clinch and Grey counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. KO moves to clinch but Grey breaks away letting Grey counter with a right hand. KO with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Grey to score with a decent uppercut. KO wants to clinch and Grey counters with a stiff right hand. KO closes the distance but Grey moves to the side and Grey counters with a stiff right hand. Grey pounces like a tiger and cracks KO with a vicious hook! KO is down but not out! Grey follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tony Grey!
