Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hamilton Cosco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen McMurtry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hamilton Cosco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen McMurtry!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Cosco throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A cross from Cosco lands.
Cosco misses with an uppercut.
McMurtry lands a jab to Cosco's midsection.
McMurtry swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Cosco counter with a right hand.

McMurtry lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Cosco sprawling to the canvas. McMurtry follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Cosco hang on?


Cosco is rocked!


It looks like Hamilton Cosco has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
McMurtry tries to stand but can't do so whilst Cosco controls his leg.
Oh Cosco is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cosco seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McMurtry tries to stand and escape but Cosco actually recovers to full guard.
McMurtry has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cosco is proving hard to escape from.

McMurtry gets to his feet. Cosco looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Cosco misses with a left hand
and McMurtry counters with a stiff right hand.
McMurtry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

McMurtry jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A solid body kick from McMurtry.

McMurtry lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

McMurtry steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cosco.
McMurtry throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cosco stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cosco is breathing heavily.
McMurtry takes a swing at Cosco's ribcage but misses.
Hamilton Cosco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McMurtry dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McMurtry with a body punch. A glancing blow.

McMurtry drops his shoulder and cracks Cosco with a huge uppercut! Cosco goes down! Can McMurtry finish him?

Cosco looking to hit a scissor sweep but McMurtry is one step ahead there.
Cosco has a closed guard, preventing McMurtry from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cosco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McMurtry on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cosco lands a right hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from McMurtry. Cosco does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cosco throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McMurtry stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cosco takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McMurtry just misses with a punch to the body.
Cosco takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McMurtry lands a high kick!
This has been an exciting period of action!
McMurtry scores with a nice right hand.
McMurtry keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McMurtry connects with a leg kick. Cosco looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
McMurtry scores with a head kick.
McMurtry lands a nice looking body kick.
McMurtry jabs at Cosco's body.
McMurtry lands a jab-cross combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McMurtry throws a right and a left that Cosco avoids nicely.
McMurtry lands a high kick!
McMurtry is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cosco rather than just go for the knockout.
Cosco lands a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cosco pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces McMurtry back to the cage. Cosco follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Cosco dodges the punch combination from McMurtry.
McMurtry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McMurtry dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cosco on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McMurtry takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
McMurtry doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McMurtry lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cosco at a distance.
McMurtry misses with a double jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McMurtry jabs Cosco to the body, keeping him at a distance.
McMurtry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McMurtry scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

McMurtry scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cosco doesn't seem bothered though.
McMurtry lands with a shot to the body.
Cosco takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Oooh a lovely combination from McMurtry sends Cosco down but not out. McMurtry dives into side control looking to finish.

McMurtry stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Nice combo by McMurtry! Oh, that's hurt him - Cosco falls to the canvas and McMurtry follows him into side control.

Cosco takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The fighters circle, before McMurtry throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Cosco's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! McMurtry lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
