PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chino Bandito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacque Strap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bandito comes to the cage accompanied by Slayer - Hell Awaits. Strap has chosen Thunderstruck by ACDC as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strap gets the takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Strap decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Strap falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bandito counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Strap works over Bandito's head and body with a nice combination.
Bandito pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Strap back to the cage. Bandito follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd cheers as Bandito lands an impressive looking overhand right. Strap doesn't seem phased though.
Strap tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bandito swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bandito will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Strap up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Strap's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bandito keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Strap's efforts to push away.
Strap misses with a knee strike.
Bandito is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bandito lands a hook to the side of the head.

Strap breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Strap feints and then cracks Bandito's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bandito down.
The fight stays on the outside here - Strap looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bandito.
A low kick from Strap is predictable there
and Bandito makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bandito fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Strap manages to avoid it.
Strap ducks right into an uppercut from Bandito.
Strap scoring well with a low kick there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Strap takes a head kick and keeps coming.

and Strap takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Bandito shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Strap napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Strap looks like he's trying to stand up.
Strap is trying to maintain the position but Bandito is very close to passing his half guard.

Bandito is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Strap defends it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Strap is looking to control Bandito's arms but Bandito gets an underhook and turns him. Now Strap has his back to the cage.
Bandito is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Strap is defending well for now.
Come on Bandito - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Bandito blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Strap breaks the clinch.
Strap is looking to score with low kicks.
Bandito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strap tries to avoid it but Bandito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strap to the ground. Strap escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bandito feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Strap's calf.

Bandito drives through with a takedown into Strap's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bandito misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Bandito has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bandito is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Strap is surviving well by controlling Bandito's body position as best he can.

Strap can't keep his opponent in guard - Bandito advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
