Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddy Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Schutte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Franklin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to For A Few Dollars More. Mike Schutte will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Schutte shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Franklin sprawls well. Franklin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Schutte gets slowly back to his feet.
Franklin clinches up with Schutte and pushes him back against the cage.
Franklin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Schutte has him pressed against the cage.
Schutte has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Franklin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Schutte is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Franklin is looking to break free of the clinch but Schutte has double underhooks.

Franklin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Franklin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schutte swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Schutte controls Franklin momentarily but Franklin frees himself.
Franklin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schutte on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Franklin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Franklin.
It looks like Mike Schutte has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Schutte.
