Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Japeth Agular (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Japeth Agular! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Williams! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Agular keeps the fight on the outside. Williams falls off balance throwing a combination
and Agular counters with a one-two to the body. Williams stuffs the takedown. Agular throws a head kick that misses. Agular tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Williams swivels and escapes. Agular shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Agular's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Japeth Agular. That's going to take a lot out of him. Agular tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Agular throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Agular off to one side. Agular gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Williams content to stall in guard here. Williams stopping the sweep attempt from Agular.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Agular's head. Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Agular swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williams is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Williams slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Agular knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. Agular keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. Williams sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. David Williams was stalling too much, according to the referee. Agular darts in and clinches Williams up against the cage. Agular landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Agular blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Agular gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Williams regains guard.
Agular is breathing heavily. Williams is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Williams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Agular is one step ahead there.
OK we're going to have a standup here. David Williams hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Agular doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.
Agular shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Agular checks a low kick from Williams. Williams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Agular sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Williams pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Agular back to the cage. Williams follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Agular ducks under a wild hook from Williams. Williams digs a good body shot into Agular's ribs. Agular avoids a punch combination nicely.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Agular sprawls well. Agular wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Williams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Agular circles away.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. and Agular counters by clinching up. Agular pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Agular tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance. Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Agular moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Agular is trying hard to land a takedown here. Williams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Williams getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Williams thuds his right hand into Agular's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Williams uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Agular defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Williams. Williams swats away the attempt to clinch by Agular. Williams misses with a few strikes there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but David Williams will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Agular wants to clinch. Agular shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Williams manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Williams pulls Agular in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams working for a triangle but Agular defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Agular won't allow Williams to sweep him here. Agular has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams looking to control.
Agular wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Agular stands and steps away. Williams gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Williams connects with a jab. David Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Williams fails with an attempt to clinch.
Agular with a lazy takedown attempt and Williams counters with a three punch combo that has Agular backing up. Agular nods at Williams to acknowledge the strikes. Williams connects with a looping right hand.
Williams closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Agular to the mat! Agular manages to get full guard. Williams throwing strikes from guard but Agular blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams throwing strikes but missing. Williams passes Agular's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Williams thows a huge punch but Agular dodges it nicely.
Williams moves nicely into side control. Agular is not content to let Williams control the position. Williams is trying to get an arm triangle but Agular is defending well. Agular wants to control but Williams postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Agular is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Williams is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Williams wants to control but Agular is keeping him busy. Sloppy strikes there by Williams. Williams trying to control the position but Agular is working away. Agular parries the strikes from Williams easily there. Williams is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Agular to escape.
Williams scores with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Williams taking a breather here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Williams looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Agular is avoiding damage well.

David Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Williams throws a solid leg kick but Agular takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Williams. Williams throws a front kick aimed at Agular's knee but Agular avoids it well. Williams pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Williams is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Williams uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Williams scores with a shot to the body.
Agular shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Williams is trying to defend but Agular finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Williams moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Agular is sitting in close to Williams's body. Williams has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Agular is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Agular is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Williams.
