Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Da Mian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Botwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Da Mian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Botwin!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Botwin misses with a kick to the body.
Mian looks to throw the jab but Botwin is out of range.
Botwin throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Botwin. Mian shrugs it off though.
Botwin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mian has a takedown stuffed.
Andy Botwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Botwin counters with a good low kick that Mian was not able to check.

Botwin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mian swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Botwin.

Mian throws a series of punches but Botwin avoids them all with ease.

Mian shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Botwin as he avoids it easily.
Botwin throws the kick towards the body but Mian avoids it.

Mian shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mian showed some decent athleticism there.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mian is stalling here. Botwin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mian seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Botwin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Botwin tries to score with some ground and pound. Mian controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Mian seems a little lost for a moment, as Botwin dominates the positioning.

Botwin wants to control for a moment but Mian uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Mian won't allow Botwin to pass to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Botwin winds up and cracks Mian with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Botwin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mian is out of range and Botwin settles back down.
Botwin lands a leg kick that knocks Mian off balance momentarily.

and Botwin counters with a thumping low kick.
Mian shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Botwin as he jumps to the side.
Botwin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mian. That did some damage!

Botwin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mian manages to avoid it.
Mian takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Mian chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Botwin can pounce on him.
Botwin lands with a kick to the temple. Mian shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Mian misses with the combination.
Mian will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Botwin lands a head kick. Mian smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Mian ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Botwin moves away.
Mian uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Botwin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mian takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Donk. Botwin catches Mian right on the button with a cross.
Mian takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Botwin throws a front kick that sends Mian stumbling back into the cage.
Botwin connects with a right hand. Mian shakes it off.
Botwin scores with a kick to the body.
Botwin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Mian if he has to take too many more of those.
Botwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Mian, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Botwin throws the kick towards the body but Mian avoids it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mian. Botwin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Da Mian is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mian will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mian is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Mian has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Botwin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mian has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Botwin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Andy Botwin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Botwin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Botwin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mian.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andy Botwin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Botwin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
