Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Sampyla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marlo Stein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Sampyla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marlo Stein! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampyla clinches with his opponent.
Stein trying to control the position but instead, Sampyla has worked for underhooks and has pushed Stein into the cage. Stein successfully pulls guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sampyla gets to his feet. Stein looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Sampyla has a takedown stuffed. Stein moves into the clinch. Sampyla tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stein just stands there and leans against the cage. Stein has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sampyla avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Sampyla is trying to break the clinch but Stein is controlling him. Stein can't get the takedown.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sampyla manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sampyla shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A swing and a miss from Sampyla. Stein tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sampyla manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stein shoots in and drives through. Sampyla sprawls well. Stein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sampyla moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sampyla shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stein manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Sampyla gets to his feet - Stein follows without any prompting. Sampyla throws a low kick but it's checked well by Stein. Stein darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sampyla kicks Stein off and gets back to his feet. Sampyla falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stein counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sampyla thinking. Sampyla is breathing heavily. Stein shoots in and bounces Sampyla off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Stein trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sampyla's guard. Stein must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Stein is stalling in the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marlo Stein was stalling too much, according to the referee. Sampyla throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sampyla stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sampyla wants it to stay on the feet. Sampyla tries to clinch up but Stein circles away and keeps his distance. Sampyla tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stein sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sampyla somewhat. Stein has closed the distance and engaged Sampyla in a clinch.

Sampyla is trying to drag Stein to the mat but Stein just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Stein stalling the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stein's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sampyla shoots in looking for a takedown. Stein tries to sprawl out of it but Sampyla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stein manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marlo Stein will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sampyla closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stein to the mat! Stein manages to get full guard. Sampyla decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Stein dives in and grabs Sampyla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sampyla pushes down on Stein's head and hops out. Sam Sampyla is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stein fails in his attempt to clinch. Sampyla tries to clinch but Stein is having none of it. Sampyla shoots in for a double leg but Stein sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Stein closes the distance and clinches. Stein jumps guard.
Stein is looking for a triangle but Sampyla pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sampyla tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A head kick misses from Sampyla. Stein is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sampyla sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Stein moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Sampyla throws a right and a left that Stein avoids nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stein has managed to clinch.

Stein throws a series of punches but Sampyla avoids them all with ease. Stein's corner calls for a 1-2. Stein obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Sam Sampyla has been cut. Stein wants to clinch. Stein rushes Sampyla and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stein wants the takedown. Sampyla is fighting it off but Stein persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sampyla's guard against the cage. Sampyla keeping moving, preventing Stein from controlling successfully. Sampyla wants to stand but Stein is controlling the position. Stein trying to control the position from guard on top but Sampyla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sampyla is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stein breaks from the clinch.

Marlo Stein showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Sam Sampyla's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Sampyla lands a really nice looking cross but Stein seems unphased.

Stein throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sampyla escapes and throws Stein's legs to the side, diving into side control! You can see the frustration on Stein's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sampyla stands up. Stein fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sampyla avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampyla drives through and clinches with Stein against the cage.
A short right from Stein. A short left from Stein. Sampyla working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Stein takes a knee to the side of the body. Sampyla is trying to break the clinch but Stein has him pressed against the cage. Stein fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Great action here. Sampyla decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stein throws a sloppy head kick and Sampyla moves out of range easily. Stein doesn't manage to clinch there - Sampyla circles away.
Sampyla gets caught napping as Stein dives in and scores a takedown. Sampyla manages to retain guard. Stein wants to control from the top but Sampyla keeps moving. Stein wanted to stand there but Sampyla had control of the position.

Stein tries to clinch but Sampyla moves out of range. Stein fails with a takedown attempt. Sampyla moves into the clinch. Sampyla is trying to push Stein away but Stein has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sampyla looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stein manages to break the clinch.
Stein shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stein showed some decent athleticism there. Sam Sampyla overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stein stops Sampyla from getting back to his feet.
Stein is pressing down on Sampyla's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sampyla is holding on for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stein wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sampyla keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sampyla tries to kick Stein off but Stein keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Sam Sampyla showed his dominance in that final round. I think Stein has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
