These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murakami misses with a lunging right hand
and Charles counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Murakami throws the left hand but Charles avoids the punch easily. Charles walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Murakami checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Charles misses with a hook
and Murakami counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Henry Charles has been cut. Kazahiro Murakami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murakami throws a head kick that misses enabling Charles to counter with a crisp jab. Murakami swings widly with a right hand
and Charles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Charles throws a one two combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Murakami's guard. Charles slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Charles postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Charles won't allow Murakami to sweep him here. Murakami can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Charles controls the pace. Murakami is trying to control the position from the bottom.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Charles wants to control from the top but Murakami keeps moving.

Charles walks forward, straight into a front kick from Murakami. Kazahiro Murakami is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
