PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rickey Dorsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dorsey's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Switchfoot: Meant to live. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rickey Dorsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dexter Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dorsey fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Morgan to the ground. Dorsey is now in Morgan's guard.
Morgan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Dorsey is trying to get back to full guard.
Morgan is trying to control the action in half guard but Dorsey is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dorsey pushes Morgan off looking to stand but Morgan dives back in and keeps control.

Morgan is looking for a kimura but Dorsey is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Morgan to get the leverage.

Still in half guard, Morgan seems content to control.

Dexter Morgan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dorsey slaps away a takedown attempt from Morgan, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dorsey drives through with a takedown into Morgan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Morgan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dorsey works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dorsey with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Morgan is pressing down on Dorsey's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dorsey is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Morgan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dorsey manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morgan is pushing down on Dorsey's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dorsey is fighting to maintain full guard but Morgan has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dorsey can't escape the position.
Morgan controlling the position easily from mount.

Morgan wants to control the pace but Dorsey is squirming around nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dexter Morgan will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Morgan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Dorsey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Morgan won't be happy with that.
Dorsey is trying to ground and pound but Morgan uses the momentary lack of control by Dorsey to regain half guard.
Morgan gets full guard.
Dorsey throws and elbow that misses. Morgan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dorsey's guard. Nice move by Morgan!
Morgan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dorsey's guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Let's hope that Morgan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Morgan trying to mount his opponent but Dorsey defends it.
Dexter Morgan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Morgan uses his free foot to push down on Dorsey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dorsey.
Morgan looking to control and managing it successfully.

Morgan throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dorsey because Morgan loaded up on that one.
Dorsey tries to reverse the position but Morgan maintains control.

Morgan controlling from mount.
Dorsey tries to buck Morgan off but he can't manage it.

Morgan working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Morgan controlling his opponent.
Dorsey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Morgan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dorsey looks a forlorn figure.
Morgan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dorsey is looking to escape.
Morgan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dorsey kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dexter Morgan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dorsey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice sprawl there from Dorsey as Morgan shoots in.
Morgan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dorsey.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dorsey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dorsey tries to get out of the position.

Dexter Morgan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I've got Morgan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
