Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Gullion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gullion comes to the cage accompanied by AFI: Miseria Cantera. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Gullion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauricio Rua! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gullion fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rua shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gullion makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Rua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Gullion scores with the left hand. Rua knows he should have avoided that one. Gullion closes the distance and lands a one-two. Gullion dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Gullion lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rua backs up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice body punch from Gullion. Gullion scores with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rua has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Rua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gullion but Gullion pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gullion throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Gullion lands an overhand right. Gullion connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Rua takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Rua throws a jab when Gullion was well out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rua misses with a right hand and Gullion counters with a series of strikes. Rua will be more careful next time no doubt. Gullion lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rua circles away quickly and effectively. Decent striking displayed by Gullion there. Gullion works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Gullion paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Gullion scores with a nice strike. Rua walks into a stiff left hand from Gullion.
Rua is rocked! A cross from Gullion lands. Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Gullion finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gullion lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Rua seems to have recovered his senses. Rua walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Rua looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gullion is fending him off so far but Rua persists. Nope, Gullion circles away and we're back to standing. Jeremy Gullion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Rua. Rua looks gassed! Rua fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Rua is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gullion is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Rua. Gullion lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Rua takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gullion clobbers Rua with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Jeremy Gullion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Rua tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gullion swivels and escapes. Rua takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nice straight punches there by Gullion. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gullion. Gullion drops Rua with a beautiful combination! Rua stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gullion is looking for the KO! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Gullion dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rua is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gullion throws a hook to the side of Rua's head but Rua sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The crowd cheers as Gullion lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rua doesn't seem phased though. Gullion cracks Rua with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Gullion lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rua circles away quickly and effectively. Jab from Gullion. Jeremy Gullion is winning the standup battle so far. Gullion lands a lovely overhand right. Gullion scores with a jab. Rua with a poor takedown and Gullion counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rua thinking. Rua is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oooooh!!! Gullion has knocked Rua down with a huge combo! Gullion steps away and waves a wobbly Rua back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Rua changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gullion tries to avoid it but Rua manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gullion to the ground. Gullion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gullion feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Rua crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jeremy Gullion!
