The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Egans lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wood has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wood and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Egans throws a right hand that Wood ducks under and follows up with a left that Wood also avoids with ease. Wood looks for a takedown but Egans sprawls well. Wood shoots in looking for a takedown but Egans manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wood's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wood walks into a stiff left hand from Egans. Egans stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hade Wood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Egans misses with a two punch combination.
Egans closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wood circles away. Wood tries for a takedown but Egans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That was a close round but I would say that Hade Wood will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wood works Egans's body with a nice hook. Egans blocks a jab. Egans stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Egans wants it to stay on the feet. Wood fails with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Egans tries to land a leg kick but Wood saw it coming and moves away.

Egans must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Egans's guard. Wood connects with a couple of short punches. Egans looking to control.

Wood works a leg free and moves into half guard. Egans wants to control but Wood is keeping busy and won't allow it. Egans makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! A close third round but Gerald Egans just about did enough to take it. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Egans throws a right and a left that both miss. Egans lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Egans ducks under a wild hook from Wood. Hade Wood had his way with Gerald Egans in that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Egans tries for a takedown but Wood circles away easily and Wood counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Egans tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wood was well out of range. Poor timing from Egans. Gerald Egans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fighters circle momentarily. Egans darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Egans tries to score with a low kick but Wood moves his leg out of the way. Egans will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A hook to the body from Egans.
