Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kano Kintaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Kano Kintaro has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kano Kintaro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Victor Vaughn!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kintaro with a lazy takedown attempt
and Vaughn counters with a nice kick to the body.
Kintaro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vaughn as he avoids it easily.
Vaughn throws a head kick but Kintaro moves out of range.
Vaughn misses with a jab, cross combination.

Vaughn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vaughn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kintaro's head.
Kintaro regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Vaughn.

Vaughn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Vaughn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kintaro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kintaro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kintaro wants to stand and escape but Vaughn is having none of it.

Kintaro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vaughn manages to get himself to full guard.

Vaughn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kintaro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vaughn manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Kintaro throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kintaro looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vaughn is fending him off so far but Kintaro persists. Nope, Vaughn circles away and we're back to standing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Vaughn dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Vaughn throws a nice looking combination but Kintaro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kintaro has Vaughn pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vaughn manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Vaughn keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kintaro's efforts to push away.

Vaughn gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Vaughn tries to land a front kick but Kintaro steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Vaughn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kintaro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vaughn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Left hook, right uppercut from Vaughn.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Vaughn turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kintaro manages to get back to half guard.

Kintaro regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Vaughn.
Vaughn throws and elbow that misses. Kintaro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vaughn's guard. Nice move by Kintaro!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kintaro goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vaughn has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kintaro but great work by Vaughn.

Victor Vaughn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kintaro drops back looking for a leg! Vaughn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vaughn manages to kick Kintaro off! Kintaro jumps back into Vaughn's guard.

Vaughn pushes Kintaro off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Vaughn throws a right hand that Kintaro ducks under and follows up with a left that Kintaro also avoids with ease.

Kintaro misses with a kick to the body.

Vaughn stuffs the takedown attempt from Kintaro. Kintaro gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kano Kintaro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kintaro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vaughn.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Vaughn wants to try and get back to his feet.
Vaughn tries to reverse the position but Kintaro maintains control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vaughn is squirming around, avoiding Kintaro's attempts to control the action.
Kintaro thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kintaro has hold of Vaughn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vaughn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Victor Vaughn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Vaughn tries to hold on but Kintaro pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kano Kintaro showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Vaughn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
