Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Javier Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brooks Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Javier Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brooks Banner!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner has a takedown stuffed.
Banner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hernandez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hernandez wants it to stay on the feet.
Javier Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brooks Banner.

Hernandez clinches up against the cage.

Banner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Banner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hernandez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banner somewhat.
Hernandez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Banner.

Banner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Banner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Banner wants to control but Hernandez passes easily into half guard.
Banner is trying to maintain the position but Hernandez is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banner trying to hold on to Hernandez's head to control him but Hernandez postures up.

Banner is looking for a sweep. Hernandez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hernandez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Banner on the ground.
Banner trying to control from the bottom.
Banner keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Banner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hernandez content to control rather than advance.

Brooks Banner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hernandez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Banner shoots for a takedown but Hernandez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brooks Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner looks gassed!
Hernandez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Banner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hernandez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hernandez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hernandez is looking to stand up but Banner isn't so interested in that idea.
Hernandez wants to sweep here but Banner controlling him for the moment.
Hernandez trying to keep a closed guard but Banner is proving a slippery customer.
Banner trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hernandez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hernandez tries to get out of the position.

Banner drops back looking for a leg! Hernandez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hernandez manages to kick Banner off! Banner jumps back into Hernandez's guard.
Banner trying to control the position from guard on top but Hernandez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hernandez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Banner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Banner wants to control but Hernandez is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Banner tries to hold on but Hernandez pushes him away.
Banner is trying desperately to improve position.

Hernandez get's back to his feet.
Banner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hernandez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banner somewhat.
Banner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hernandez avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Banner as Hernandez shoots in.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hernandez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hernandez leaves Banner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Banner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hernandez as he avoids it easily.
Hernandez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Banner's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hernandez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Banner scrambles back to his feet.

Hernandez forces Banner back against the cage and clinches.
Banner scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Hernandez is looking to break free of the clinch but Banner has double underhooks.

Banner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hernandez uses from the top position.

Banner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hernandez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hernandez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Banner is breathing heavily.

Banner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hernandez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Banner is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hernandez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Banner's body to avoid the submission. Banner has instead reached around Hernandez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Banner arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Brooks Banner!
