Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fredson Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Guifre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis comes to the cage accompanied by Blood Red Sandman - Lordi. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fredson Reis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marc Guifre! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reis stuffs the takedown. Guifre takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. The fighters circle momentarily. Reis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Reis fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Nice uppercut there from Reis. Reis lands a big shot that drops Guifre! Can he finish him?
Guifre is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Reis tries to stand but Guifre is controlling from the bottom. Guifre is still in real trouble! Can Reis finish him? Guifre seems to have recovered his senses. Guifre looking for a guillotine here but Reis defends easily.
Guifre had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Reis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Guifre Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Reis's back instead. Reis is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Guifre gets his way!
That's one minute gone in the round. Reis has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Guifre is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Guifre looks gassed! Reis is trying to stand back up. Well, with Guifre on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Reis is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Reis preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Guifre. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reis is trying to stand back up. That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Guifre is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Reis controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Guifre is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Reis defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Reis is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Guifre off. It looks like it's working - Guifre slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Reis displaying calm under pressure there. Reis scores with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Guifre changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Reis wants to get back to his feet but Guifre drags him back down. Guifre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Reis, who protects the arm well. Guifre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Reis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guifre on the ground. Reis prevents Guifre from improving position. Reis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reis tries to get out of the position. Guifre has hold of Reis's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Reis tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Guifre cranks the arm and Reis screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Reis, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Marc Guifre! Marc Guifre is the new lightweight champion!
