The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernando takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mendoza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fernando sprawls well. Fernando wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mendoza gets slowly back to his feet.
Fernando bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Mendoza counters with a shoot takedown. Fernando fights it but they end up in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
