Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lawry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Lawry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Quick! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawry on the wrong end of a nice jab. Lawry tries to score a power double leg takedown but Quick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lawry somewhat. Quick pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Lawry on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Quick. Quick obviously looking to wear him down.
Quick clinches. Lawry gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Quick.
Quick keeps control of Lawry as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Quick tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lawry is pressed up against the cage. Quick has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lawry down to the mat. Lawry avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Mike Lawry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Quick. Lawry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawry bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Quick's head.
It looks like Nick Quick has been cut. Lawry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Lawry seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Lawry lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Quick tries to roll over but Lawry keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lawry is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Quick sees it coming and defends easily. Quick regains full guard. Nicely done. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quick had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lawry defends it easily. Lawry scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quick is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lawry loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Quick is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lawry postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lawry has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lawry postures up and lands a big shot to Quick's brow. Lawry avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Quick looks gassed! Lawry drops back looking for a leg! Quick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Quick manages to kick Lawry off! Lawry jumps back into Quick's guard. Lawry is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quick had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lawry defends it easily. Lawry tries to free his leg and advance position but Quick is retaining full guard. Lawry content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lawry's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Lawry stands up over Quick, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Quick has his foot on Lawry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lawry works his way back into a safe position though. Lawry trying to control but Quick is working from the bottom. Lawry with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Lawry working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Quick's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lawry scoring with some ground and pound.
Quick is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawry scoring with some ground and pound. Quick is still in real trouble! Can Lawry finish him? Lawry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Quick works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Quick seems to have recovered his senses. Quick is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lawry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Quick has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lawry has managed to get both his arms back between Quick's legs - danger averted. Lawry wants to control from the top but Quick keeps moving. Lawry makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Lawry throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lawry forces his way into half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lawry scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lawry scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lawry works his foot free and advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Lawry dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nick Quick's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lawry shoots for a double leg takedown but Quick sprawls well. He's pushed Lawry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Quick closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Lawry trying to hold on to Quick's head to control him but Quick postures up.
Lawry regains full guard. Nicely done. Lawry looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Quick wants to pass the guard but Lawry is keeping the position. Lawry keeping moving, preventing Quick from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawry looking to control.
Quick's corner is telling him to maintain position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lawry is on top in guard.

Lawry in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lawry working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Quick's head.

He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Lawry with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. This has been an exciting period of action! Quick is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lawry defends well. Quick is breathing heavily. Lawry stands up over Quick, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Quick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lawry passes into half guard. Lawry looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Quick looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lawry looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Quick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Quick is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lawry scores with a couple of nice shots. Lawry slips a nice elbow through Quick's hands, connecting with Quick's forehead. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lawry lands a nice short elbow. Lawry drops an elbow to the side of Quick's head. Lawry is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Quick is hurt! He's hurt bad - Lawry fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Quick from any more punishment! Congratulations to Lawry! Great finish!
