The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Gregory counters with a three punch combo that has Hitch backing up. Hitch nods at Gregory to acknowledge the strikes.

Gregory misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Hitch is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gregory pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hitch is trying to drag Gregory to the mat but Gregory just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gregory digs a right hand into Hitch's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hitch's gas tank.
Hitch is breathing heavily.
Hitch is working for takedown but Gregory is calmly controlling the position for now.

Gregory throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gregory is pressed up against the cage. Hitch has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gregory down to the mat. Gregory avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Paul Gregory is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gregory rushes Hitch with punches - Hitch moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Hitch goes down! Gregory follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
