Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose has chosen Garden of Eden -- Guns n' Roses as his entrance music. William Rose has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steve Headden's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Rose! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Headden clinches up against the cage. Rose breaks from the clinch.
William Rose seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rose closes the distance and clinches up with Headden, looking for a takedown. Rose pushes Headden against the cage but Headden circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Headden keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nice sprawl there from Headden as Rose shoots in. Steve Headden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Rose. Rose looks gassed! Headden bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Headden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rose, who protects the arm well. Rose is trying to control Headden's posture but Headden avoids it. Headden stands up. Headden misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Headden throws a jab when Rose was well out of range. Headden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rose looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Headden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rose, who protects the arm well. Headden working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Headden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rose has escaped the position, nice work there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Rose gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Rose is looking to improve his position but Headden isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Headden misses with a head shot. Headden trying to control but Rose is having none of it. Headden wants to finish this one by submission but Rose is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Headden. Rose has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Headden is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rose has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Rose trying to control the action but Headden just sinks the hooks in. Rose rolls, trying to escape but Headden keeps control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose prevents Headden from getting a body triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Headden is persistently looking for the submission but Rose is defending it well.

Headden throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Rose rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Rose moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rose controls Headden momentarily but Headden frees himself. Headden forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Headden is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Rose has managed to free his arm - good work. Rose has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Headden is working away from the top position though. Rose is refusing to be controlled, as Headden sits in half guard. Headden wants to work for an arm triangle but Rose is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Headden postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rose to stand up. Rose darts in and clinches Headden up against the cage. Rose fails to pull guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rose breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Headden gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rose counters with a nice double leg into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Headden dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

Headden with a poor takedown and Rose counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rose. Rose is sitting in close to Headden's body. Headden has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rose is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rose is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Headden.
