Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Brezhnev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor's entrance music is Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Brezhnev's choice of entrance music: Coheed and Cambria - Devil in Jersey City. Mikhail Brezhnev struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mikhail Brezhnev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mason Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikhail Brezhnev! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brezhnev pinned against the cage. Brezhnev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Taylor lands a nice shot to the body.
Brezhnev takes a swing at Taylor's ribcage but misses. Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown but Brezhnev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Taylor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Brezhnev thows a body shot but no joy. Taylor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Taylor scores with a hook. Brezhnev tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taylor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brezhnev pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Brezhnev keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Taylor scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Taylor listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Taylor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor misses with a double jab.
Taylor gets a takedown into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Taylor thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Still in half guard, Taylor seems content to control. Taylor is stalling here. Brezhnev is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Taylor seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Brezhnev has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Taylor can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Brezhnev working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor tries to buck Brezhnev off but Brezhnev is having none of it. Brezhnev trying to control the position but Taylor is working away.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mason Taylor wasn't doing enough on the ground. Taylor throws a jab when Brezhnev was well out of range. Taylor with a body punch. A glancing blow. Brezhnev misses with a few strikes there.
Taylor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brezhnev was well out of range. Poor timing from Taylor. Brezhnev steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Taylor. Brezhnev takes a body punch but keeps moving. No luck for Taylor with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mason Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brezhnev was well out of range. Poor timing from Taylor. Brezhnev feints a jab promting Taylor to slip. Brezhnev then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Taylor slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Mason Taylor has been cut. Taylor fails with a takedown attempt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Taylor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brezhnev's waist but Brezhnev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taylor off to one side. Taylor throws a series of punches but Brezhnev avoids them all with ease. Brezhnev takes a swing at Taylor's ribcage but misses. Taylor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brezhnev throws a big shot that misses. Mikhail Brezhnev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brezhnev has Taylor up against the cage in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Taylor. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mason Taylor dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mason Taylor's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Taylor throws a combination that misses and Brezhnev counters with a right hand to the body. Taylor scores a takedown into full mount! Taylor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Brezhnev bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Taylor is trying to keep Brezhnev in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor pulls Brezhnev in close to prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mason Taylor wasn't doing enough on the ground. Brezhnev blocks a jab. Mason Taylor is winning the standup battle so far. Taylor scores with a one two! Brezhnev had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Brezhnev fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Taylor looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Taylor dips to his left and cracks Brezhnev with an uppercut! Brezhnev throws a right and a left that Taylor avoids nicely. Mason Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brezhnev stuns Taylor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Taylor misses with a right hand and Brezhnev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor feints a jab promting Brezhnev to slip. Taylor then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Brezhnev slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A nice combination there by Taylor.
Taylor is looking to wear down Brezhnev with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Taylor throws a lazy uppercut
and Brezhnev counters with a nice uppercut. Brezhnev scores with a body shot.
Taylor throws a right hand that misses
and Brezhnev counters with a nice body shot. Taylor scores with a shot to the body.
Brezhnev steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Taylor. Brezhnev jabs Taylor right on the nose. Taylor blinks but takes it well. Taylor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brezhnev manages to avoid it. Taylor lands a nice hook to Brezhnev's body. Brezhnev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Brezhnev connects with a right that clearly hurt Taylor. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Brezhnev proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Taylor collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mikhail Brezhnev!
