Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunn comes to the cage accompanied by Stranglehold- by Ted Nugent. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Gunn! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mack Speed! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunn misses with a two punch combination.
Gunn tries a head kick but it misses.
Speed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Speed swats away the attempt to clinch by Gunn. Gunn blocks a leg kick. Speed checks a low kick from Gunn. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gunn is defended easily by Speed. Speed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Donk. Gunn catches Speed right on the button with a cross. Gunn looks to land a right hand but Speed moved out of range. Gunn misses with a wild body shot. Speed thuds a left hand into Gunn's body. Speed takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Speed stuffs the takedown attempt from Gunn. Gunn gets slowly back to his feet. Speed attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Speed keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gunn. Gunn misses with a hook. Speed ducked under it nicely. Gunn feints and as Speed raises his hands in defense, Gunn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gunn slips nicely into half guard. Gunn seems to be looking for submissions.
Speed preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Speed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gunn is working for a submission of some sort.
Gunn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Speed doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gunn.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Speed as he works his way to full guard.
Speed is adopting a defensive guard. Speed avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunn trying to control but Speed is working from the bottom. Gunn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Speed swivels though and keeps the full guard. Speed has Gunn pulled in close to control his posture. Speed controls Gunn momentarily but Gunn frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mack Speed hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Horrible takedown by Gunn or perhaps it was just good defense by Speed which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Gunn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Speed with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters circling - Gunn throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gunn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunn throws a series of punches but Speed avoids them all with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Gunn dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Speed bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A jab from Gunn misses. Gunn throws a series of strikes that have Speed backpedaling.
Gunn lands a lovely overhand right. Speed displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gunn. Gunn throws a right and a left that Speed avoids nicely. A head kick misses from Speed. Speed stuffs the takedown. Gunn throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Speed tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gunn is able to avoid easily. Gunn avoids a kick to the body.

Kyle Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A telegraphed right hand from Gunn misses the target. Speed steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Gunn looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Speed thows a body kick. Gunn tries to catch it but that hurt him. Speed with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kyle Gunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gunn is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gunn takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. An inside leg kick lands from Speed. Speed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Speed scoring well with a low kick there.
Speed misses with a body kick. Speed tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gunn is able to avoid easily. Speed keeps Gunn at a distance using the push kick. Speed throws out a leg kick but Gunn moves out of range and Speed only half commits. Speed feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gunn's calf.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Speed lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Some bone on bone action there as Gunn checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Speed throws a nice outside leg kick. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Speed, right into the meat.
Speed connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Speed lands a head kick!

Mack Speed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Speed thumps Gunn with a low kick. An inside leg kick lands from Speed. A nice inside leg kick there by Speed. That's going to slow Gunn down. Speed throws a low kick but Gunn avoids it. Speed is looking to chop away at Gunn's legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Speed manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A big left from Gunn misses. Speed slips a jab and a cross from Gunn.
Gunn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Speed sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Gunn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Speed throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Speed throws a front kick that sends Gunn stumbling back into the cage. Speed lands a big head kick that sends Gunn to the canvas! Speed follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
