Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Legus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meraxes Targaryen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meraxes Targaryen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Meraxes Targaryen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Legus shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Legus showed some decent athleticism there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Legus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Targaryen's waist but Targaryen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Legus off to one side.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Legus here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Legus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Legus tries to get out of the position.
Targaryen looking to finish with strikes here!
Targaryen prevents Legus from getting the reversal.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Legus suckers Targaryen into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Legus is now in Targaryen's guard!
Legus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Legus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Targaryen pushes off an throws an elbow but Legus leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Legus on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Legus looking for a takedown.
Targaryen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Legus is defending well for now.
Legus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Targaryen smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Legus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew Legus.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Legus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
