Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Witt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Schofield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schofield comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Linkin Park : The Catalyst kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Aaron Witt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schofield gets caught flat footed, as Witt shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Witt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Schofield looking for a sweep. Not yet Schofield, not yet.
Witt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schofield's guard.
Schofield wants to improve his position but Witt is controlling well.

Schofield is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Witt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schofield can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Schofield drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Witt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Schofield has Witt in his guard.

Schofield is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Witt is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schofield looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Witt has picked Schofield up and slammed him! Schofield can't keep hold of the triangle and Witt manages to pass to side control!

Witt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Witt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Witt decides to stand back up. Witt steps back and let's Schofield get back to his feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Witt connects with a nice short shot to Schofield's temple.
