Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Monsoon!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoss pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoss throws a poor cross that misses

and Monsoon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monsoon not doing much here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Monsoon lands a nice short elbow.
Nice strikes from Monsoon there.
Monsoon is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hoss trying to hold on to Monsoon's head to control him but Monsoon postures up.
Hoss is trying to stand.
Monsoon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Monsoon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Monsoon lands strikes from half guard.
Hoss is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Monsoon controlling the pace.
Hoss wants to get back to full guard.

Hoss looks like he's trying to stand up.
Monsoon is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Monsoon drops an elbow to the side of Hoss's head.
Hoss has hold of Monsoon's hands but Monsoon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hoss is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Monsoon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Monsoon's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoss is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Monsoon knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Monsoon for a finish.

Hoss has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Monsoon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Monsoon breaks Hoss's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Monsoon slips nicely into half guard.
Hoss wants to improve his position but Monsoon is controlling well.

Hoss has hold of Monsoon's hands but Monsoon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Monsoon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Monsoon is looking to take a break and control but Hoss is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hoss is trying to get back to full guard.
Monsoon moves into full mount! Hoss won't be happy about that!

Hoss can't escape the position.

Monsoon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Monsoon controlling from mount.
Hoss keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Monsoon looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Hoss is desperately trying to improve his position but Monsoon has a good base and remains in mount.

Monsoon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Monsoon landing strikes from the mount.
Monsoon prevents Hoss from getting the reversal.
Monsoon with the ground and pound from mount.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Hoss is wriggling around trying to escape.
Monsoon putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Monsoon lands with some strikes.
Hoss is looking to improve his position but Monsoon isn't that keen on the idea.
Monsoon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hoss hang on?


Hoss is rocked!
Hoss is breathing heavily.
Monsoon postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Hoss out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Monsoon goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jeff Monsoon!
