Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Kazarian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joel Singapore! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Singapore fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Kazarian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Singapore circles away. Singapore defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kazarian. Singapore closes the distance and clinches up with Kazarian, looking for a takedown. Singapore pushes Kazarian against the cage but Kazarian circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kazarian takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Singapore fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Singapore lands a head kick. Kazarian smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Singapore avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Singapore. No joy for Kazarian on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Kazarian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Singapore throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kazarian. Sloppy strikes from Singapore. Those never looked like landing. Singapore swinging wildly here.
Singapore gets caught flat footed, as Kazarian shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Kazarian trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Singapore pushes Kazarian off and scrambles back to his feet.
Singapore throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singapore lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kazarian's sensitive parts. Kazarian throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kazarian closes the distance and clinches up with Singapore, looking for a takedown. Kazarian pushes Singapore against the cage but Singapore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kazarian fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Singapore fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kazarian on the side of the head. Kazarian takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
An inside leg kick lands from Singapore. Nice sprawl there from Singapore as Kazarian shoots in. Kazarian is breathing heavily. Singapore works Kazarian's body with a nice hook. Kazarian is trying hard to land a takedown here. Singapore sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Kazarian takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Singapore moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kazarian shoots for a takedown but Singapore saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Singapore feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kazarian's calf. Singapore scores with a nice body kick.
Danga de danga de dang - Singapore scores with a four punch combination! Kazarian takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kazarian takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Singapore throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kazarian's head.
Kazarian is rocked! Singapore catches Kazarian with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Kazarian forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
