Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Zhitnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Vovochka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zhitnik might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Metallica - Leper Messiah. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhitnik lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Vladimir Vovochka has been cut.
Vovochka drives through with a takedown into Zhitnik's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Vovochka is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Vovochka with a flurry of punches that miss.
Zhitnik is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zhitnik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zhitnik holds on and takes a little breather.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vovochka postures up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We're going to have a standup here because Igor Zhitnik wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vovochka.
Vovochka staying out of range there.

Vovochka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vovochka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vovochka wants to control the pace but Zhitnik is squirming around nicely.
Zhitnik defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Vovochka.

Vovochka is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zhitnik has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Vovochka avoids the attempt from Zhitnik to control.
Zhitnik keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Zhitnik wants to hold on but Vovochka pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zhitnik is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Vovochka sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Vovochka goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Zhitnik is on top in guard.
Zhitnik postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zhitnik throws and elbow that misses. Vovochka uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zhitnik's guard. Nice move by Vovochka!

Vovochka drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zhitnik manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vovochka has Zhitnik in his guard.

Vovochka wants to sweep but no luck.
Zhitnik working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Zhitnik scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Zhitnik lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Zhitnik working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vovochka's head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zhitnik trying to control the position from guard on top but Vovochka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zhitnik is looking to work some ground and pound but Vovochka has wrist control.
Vovochka trying to keep a closed guard but Zhitnik is proving a slippery customer.
Zhitnik postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Vladimir Vovochka's cut.
That's time! Zhitnik's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Vovochka throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zhitnik's waist but Zhitnik gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vovochka off to one side.
Vovochka fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zhitnik misses with an uppercut.
Vovochka doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Zhitnik counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vovochka!
Igor Zhitnik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Vovochka.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zhitnik drops a big elbow. That's hurt Vovochka! More shots from Zhitnik and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
