Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Snoozer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rage Against The Machine: Bulls On Parade . Snoozer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Prodigy - Spitfire. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Snoozer! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snoozer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carlson . Snoozer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Carlson finds it's way round the side to connect with Snoozer's head. Carlson misses with a looping left. Snoozer takes a swing at Carlson 's ribcage but misses. Carlson lands with a right hand. Snoozer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carlson .
Carlson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carlson slips a jab from Snoozer. Carlson cracks a nice hook into Snoozer's ribs. Carlson stuffs the takedown. Snoozer stuffs the takedown. Snoozer misses with a looping right. Snoozer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Snoozer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Carlson misses with a looping left.

Snoozer misses with a straight left. Carlson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Carlson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Carlson misses with a body kick. Snoozer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Carlson connects with a single shot there. Snoozer lands a jab-cross combination. Carlson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snoozer was well out of range. Poor timing from Carlson . Carlson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Snoozer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carlson throws out the jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Snoozer. Carlson does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Carlson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Snoozer defending well though. Snoozer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Carlson wants to advance to full mount but Snoozer doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carlson throws a strike but Snoozer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Carlson is looking for a triangle here but Snoozer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Snoozer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Snoozer trying to control the position but Carlson is working away. Snoozer takes a little break here. Carlson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Carlson is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Snoozer throwing shots but missing, from side control. Carlson is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Snoozer working the ground and pound but Carlson is defending the strikes. Carlson tries to buck Snoozer off but Snoozer is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlson looks to move to half guard but instead Snoozer has passed into mount! Damn! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carlson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jamie Carlson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Carlson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Snoozer takes one on the button. Snoozer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carlson moves away. Carlson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Snoozer on the side of the head. Snoozer is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Carlson rather than just go for the knockout. Carlson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Snoozer.

Snoozer throws an overhand right that lands on Carlson 's shoulder, as Carlson tries to avoid the shot. Carlson lands a jab to the head.

Carlson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Carlson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Carlson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snoozer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sam Snoozer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jamie Carlson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A slow jab from Carlson misses its intended target. Snoozer misses the shot to the body. Carlson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Snoozer.
A lazy left from Snoozer finds it's target. Carlson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Snoozer gets back to half guard. Snoozer wants to get back to his feet. Snoozer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Carlson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carlson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Snoozer has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. And that's the end of the fight! Jamie Carlson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Carlson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
