The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wecowski drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wecowski trying to control the position from guard on top but Massonov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wecowski is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Kamil Wecowski just wasn't active enough.
Wecowski scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wecowski is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Massonov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wecowski.
Massonov won't allow Wecowski to pass to mount.

Wecowski is looking for submissions but instead, Massonov has regained full guard.
Wecowski passes into half guard.
Wecowski wants to work for an arm triangle but Massonov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wecowski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Massonov is defending against the submission attempts here by Wecowski.

Massonov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wecowski is taking a breather. Massonov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Massonov tries to roll over but Wecowski keeps him under control.
Wecowski moves into full mount! Massonov won't be happy about that!
Wecowski has control of Massonov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Massonov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Wecowski can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Massonov is looking to escape.

Wecowski is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Wecowski extends the arm and Massonov is forced to tap!
