Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Starks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahkmed Ufalopolaus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Starks comes to the cage accompanied by Ich + Ich - Stark. Ufalopolaus has chosen Shabnami Soraya - Az Kudumi Safar as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Andy Starks had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Starks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ahkmed Ufalopolaus!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Ufalopolaus. Starks does a little dance to reset his feet.
Starks misses with a looping left.

Starks digs a good body shot into Ufalopolaus's ribs.
Andy Starks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ufalopolaus instigates a clinch.
Ufalopolaus goes for a takedown attempt but Starks pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Starks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ufalopolaus is able to avoid easily.

Starks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ufalopolaus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Starks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fight stays on the outside here - Starks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ufalopolaus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ufalopolaus closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Ufalopolaus counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ufalopolaus.

Ufalopolaus has Starks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Starks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ufalopolaus wants the takedown. Starks is fighting it off but Ufalopolaus persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Starks's guard against the cage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ufalopolaus won't allow Starks to sweep him here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Starks thows a body kick. Ufalopolaus tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Starks throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ufalopolaus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ufalopolaus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ufalopolaus misses with a series of wild punches.
Starks goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

so Ufalopolaus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Starks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ufalopolaus is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andy Starks will probably get the nod.
