Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Arlo Svengali!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svengali tries to clinch

and Bowron counters with a shoot takedown. Svengali fights it but they end up in guard.
Bowron passes into half guard.
Bowron stops Svengali from getting back to his feet.

Svengali tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bowron swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bowron throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Bowron shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Svengali defends it nicely.

and Bowron counters with a nice double leg into side control. Svengali won't be happy with that.

Svengali gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Svengali looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bowron seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Svengali has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bowron is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ross Bowron.

Svengali can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bowron controls the pace.
Bowron has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

and Bowron connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Svengali changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bowron fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Bowron closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Svengali's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bowron accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bowron is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Bowron's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Svengali shoots in for a takedown but Bowron shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bowron is taking a breather. Svengali says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bowron has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
