PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Harbinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Kuruvilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harbinger comes to the cage accompanied by Hollywood Undead-Undead. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kuruvilla's choice of entrance music: Time To Play The Game by Drowning Pool. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Harbinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Kuruvilla!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harbinger stuffs the takedown.
Tommy Kuruvilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuruvilla tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harbinger paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Harbinger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kuruvilla tries to avoid it but Harbinger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kuruvilla to the ground. Kuruvilla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Harbinger tries for a takedown but Kuruvilla sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Harbinger clinches up with Kuruvilla and pushes him back against the cage.

Harbinger has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kuruvilla avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Harbinger drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kuruvilla gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Harbinger is pressing down on Kuruvilla's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kuruvilla is holding on for now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kuruvilla is looking to take a break and control but Harbinger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kuruvilla controls the position.

Harbinger trying his best to control but Kuruvilla has mounted him.
Harbinger on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Harbinger tries to get out of the position.
Harbinger tries to hold on but Kuruvilla pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harbinger regains half guard.
Kuruvilla prevents Harbinger from standing back up.

Kuruvilla is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Harbinger wants to get back to his feet.
Harbinger wants to control but Kuruvilla is keeping busy.
Kuruvilla is taking a breather. Harbinger says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harbinger is looking to improve his position.

Kuruvilla stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kuruvilla can't keep his opponent in guard - Harbinger advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kuruvilla tries to roll over but Harbinger keeps him under control.

Harbinger postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kuruvilla to stand up.

so Harbinger counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Harbinger stands up from Kuruvilla's guard - Harbinger perhaps looking for a knockout.
Kuruvilla misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kuruvilla tries to clinch but Harbinger is having none of it.
Harbinger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kuruvilla.

Kuruvilla shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Harbinger's guard.

Harbinger uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Kuruvilla won't let Harbinger get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Kuruvilla shoots in but Harbinger avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Harbinger tries for a takedown but Kuruvilla sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Harbinger or perhaps it was just good defense by Kuruvilla which made him look bad.

Kuruvilla feints and as Harbinger raises his hands in defense, Kuruvilla changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kuruvilla wants to control from the top but Harbinger keeps moving.

Harbinger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Harbinger wants to sweep here but Kuruvilla controlling him for the moment.
Harbinger is striking off his back. Kuruvilla thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Kuruvilla takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Harbinger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kuruvilla pushes Harbinger off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Harbinger counters by moving into the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kuruvilla tries to stall but Harbinger uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Harbinger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kuruvilla takes a kick to the side of the head.


Kuruvilla is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Harbinger closes the distance looking for a takedown. Harbinger picks Kuruvilla up and slams him brutally to the floor. Kuruvilla is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
