Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob MacGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rob MacGregor had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Jose Aldo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Aldo - just one landing.
Rob MacGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
MacGregor swings for the body but Aldo moves out of range.
Aldo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between MacGregor's hands.

It looks like Rob MacGregor has been cut.
MacGregor cracks Aldo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Aldo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. MacGregor doesn't seem bothered though.
Aldo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but MacGregor manages to avoid it.
A combination from MacGregor does no damage.
MacGregor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aldo.

and MacGregor counters with a nice double leg into side control. Aldo won't be happy with that.

MacGregor tries to score with some ground and pound. Aldo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
MacGregor throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

MacGregor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Aldo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Aldo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but MacGregor is controlling him well.
Aldo has one of MacGregor's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

MacGregor creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Aldo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

MacGregor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aldo, who protects the arm well.

MacGregor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aldo keeps working.

Aldo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but MacGregor has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Aldo tries to stand but his hand is stuck under MacGregor.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
MacGregor wants to improve his position but Aldo is controlling well.

Aldo passes into side control, despite MacGregor's attempt to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
MacGregor tries to bench press Aldo off him but Aldo keeps the position.

Aldo stands up and beckons MacGregor to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Aldo scores with a jab. MacGregor acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Aldo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Aldo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Aldo, as that shot connected.
Aldo connects with a single shot there.

MacGregor is rocked!
Aldo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oh MacGregor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rob MacGregor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Aldo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
MacGregor seems to have got his legs back now.
Aldo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before MacGregor has time to react.

MacGregor misses with a jab, cross combination.
MacGregor closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

MacGregor misses with a takedown attempt - Aldo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Aldo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches MacGregor on the side of the head.
Jose Aldo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
MacGregor takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Aldo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before MacGregor has time to react.
MacGregor takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Aldo throws an overhand right that drops MacGregor like a sack of potatoes! Aldo dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
