Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Glenn Benton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Scottie Redd! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redd misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Benton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Benton misses with a wild combination.
Redd fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Benton avoids it really well and circles away. Glenn Benton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scottie Redd. Benton scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Benton works the jab nicely. Redd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Benton sprawls well. Benton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Redd gets slowly back to his feet. Benton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Benton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Benton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This has been an exciting period of action! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Redd is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redd sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Redd is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Benton pulls his head out easily. Benton is keen to just control but Redd is a slippery customer. Redd avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Benton. That's two minutes gone in the round. Benton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Redd does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Redd punching from the bottom.
Redd looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Redd flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Benton is keen to just control but Redd is a slippery customer. Redd actively working from the bottom here. Benton throwing shots but Redd is blocking nicely. Redd manages to get to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Redd looking for subs off his back but Benton has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Benton throwing strikes but missing. Benton trying to control but Redd is working from the bottom. Redd had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Benton defends it easily. Redd throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Benton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Redd works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scottie Redd dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Redd has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Benton scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Benton tries a head kick but it misses.
Redd is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Benton.

Redd is still on wobbly legs! Can Benton finish him? Benton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Benton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Benton misses with a two punch combination.
Benton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Benton throws an overhand right that drops Redd like a sack of potatoes! Benton dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
