Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jun Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Mcsnottem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Akiyama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Mcsnottem! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcsnottem throws a sloppy head kick and Akiyama moves out of range easily. Mcsnottem plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mcsnottem lands a head kick. Akiyama smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Akiyama avoids the head kick by Mcsnottem.
Mcsnottem throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mcsnottem misses with a head kick.
Mcsnottem throws a head kick that misses and Akiyama counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Mcsnottem pushes Akiyama off looking to stand but Akiyama dives back in and keeps control.
Nice strikes from Akiyama there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Akiyama seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcsnottem does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Akiyama misses with a head shot. Mcsnottem uses the momentum to regain guard. Akiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcsnottem is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akiyama landing some decent shots from guard. Akiyama throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Akiyama trying to control but Mcsnottem is working from the bottom. Akiyama trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Akiyama wants to control from the top but Mcsnottem keeps moving. Akiyama is looking to work some ground and pound but Mcsnottem has wrist control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcsnottem can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcsnottem throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Akiyama wants to control from the top but Mcsnottem keeps moving. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Akiyama is really struggling to control Mcsnottem but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jun Akiyama. Akiyama fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Akiyama shoots in for a double leg but Mcsnottem sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Akiyama stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mcsnottem. Mcsnottem pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mcsnottem throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Mcsnottem misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcsnottem throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Akiyama moves out of range of the body kick. Mcsnottem throws a nice head kick!
Mcsnottem stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jun Akiyama. That's going to take a lot out of him. Akiyama blocks a head kick by Mcsnottem.
Mcsnottem connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A shot to the liver by Mcsnottem. Beautiful body shot. William Mcsnottem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcsnottem misses with a head kick.
Akiyama shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcsnottem tries to sprawl out of it but Akiyama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcsnottem manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Akiyama swinging wildly here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Akiyama wants to land a leg kick but Mcsnottem is out of range. Akiyama steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mcsnottem. Mcsnottem lands a nice looking kick to the body. Akiyama takes a step back to recover. Akiyama has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mcsnottem. Mcsnottem throws a lazy head kick and Akiyama counters with a single leg into guard. Mcsnottem didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mcsnottem wants to stand but Akiyama is controlling the position. Akiyama working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mcsnottem keeping moving, preventing Akiyama from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jun Akiyama will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mcsnottem looks for the body kick but Akiyama saw that one coming. Mcsnottem throws a head kick that misses and Akiyama counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mcsnottem won't be happy with that. Akiyama lands an elbow. Mcsnottem managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Akiyama.

Akiyama looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Akiyama remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Akiyama is staying tight to Mcsnottem's torso, preventing him from escaping. Akiyama misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Akiyama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Akiyama sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mcsnottem is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Mcsnottem wants to control but Akiyama postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcsnottem tries to buck Akiyama off but Akiyama is having none of it. Akiyama misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Akiyama in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Akiyama throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Akiyama controls the position. Akiyama is looking to take a break and control but Mcsnottem is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mcsnottem dodges the ground and pound from Akiyama.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mcsnottem pushes Akiyama away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Akiyama gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Akiyama is trying to ground and pound but Mcsnottem uses the momentary lack of control by Akiyama to regain half guard. Mcsnottem works his way to full guard. Good work. Mcsnottem tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akiyama stands up from Mcsnottem's guard - Akiyama perhaps looking for a knockout. Mcsnottem scores with a nice body kick.

Jun Akiyama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mcsnottem throws a head kick that misses and Akiyama counters with a shoot takedown. Mcsnottem fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akiyama prevents Mcsnottem from getting back to his feet. Akiyama wants to stand but Mcsnottem has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Akiyama seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Akiyama is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akiyama distracts Mcsnottem with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Akiyama stops Mcsnottem from standing up. Akiyama thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mcsnottem is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Akiyama is controlling him. Mcsnottem takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Akiyama stands up over Mcsnottem, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcsnottem is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Akiyama connects with a couple of short punches. Akiyama throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mcsnottem works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mcsnottem is working an open guard so Akiyama takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Akiyama closes the distance and clinches up with Mcsnottem, looking for a takedown. Akiyama pushes Mcsnottem against the cage but Mcsnottem circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Akiyama shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcsnottem napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mcsnottem tries to escape but Akiyama is in control. William Mcsnottem has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcsnottem parries the strikes from Akiyama easily there. Akiyama is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mcsnottem to escape.
Akiyama throws an elbow but Mcsnottem slips to the side and avoids it well. Mcsnottem is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Mcsnottem is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Akiyama working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
And that's the end of the fight! Jun Akiyama showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Akiyama, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
