Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Miki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Miki!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones wants to clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Miki's head back.


It looks like Daniel Miki has been cut.
Jones throws a right hand that Miki ducks under and follows up with a left that Miki also avoids with ease.

Jones drops Miki with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Miki looks back up at him and smiles so Jones waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Miki moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.
Jones swings for the body but Miki moves out of range.
Miki should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Miki pinned against the cage. Miki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Miki counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Miki.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet.
Miki stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Daniel Miki was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Miki closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jones quickly recovers to half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daniel Miki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Miki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Miki wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones wants to stand but Miki is controlling the position.

Miki controls from within his opponent's guard.

Miki stops Jones from standing up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Miki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daniel Miki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A right-left combo lands from Miki.


It looks like Mark Jones has been cut.

Miki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones tries to keep at a distance but Miki has taken the fight into the clinch.

Jones lands a left and a right that send Miki crashing to the mat, dazed. Jones thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Miki is rocked!


That has opened up Daniel Miki's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Miki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones drops Miki with a beautiful combination! Miki stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jones is looking for the KO!
Miki is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Miki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Miki seems to have recovered his senses.

Miki rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Jones wants to break free but Miki has control.

Miki works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Miki is proving a slippery customer.
Miki passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.

Miki lands a few punches from side control.
The referee asks Miki politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Miki prefers to stall for the moment though.
Miki wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Miki is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jones cracks a nice hook into Miki's ribs.
Jones jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Jones lands a big right hand that sends Miki crashing to the mat! Jones stays standing though and waves Miki back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones lands a big uppercut and Miki crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Miki looks OK. Jones waves Miki back to his feet!

The cut above Daniel Miki's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Jones clinches with his opponent.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Miki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Miki.
Jones thuds a left hand into Miki's body.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Miki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jones is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Miki's hands.
Jones connects with a crisp jab.

Miki gets a clinch.
Jones can't get the takedown.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Miki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jones!

Miki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Miki is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jones is looking to escape.
Miki scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Miki seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Miki has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
