Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between JW Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Leighty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leighty has chosen Cowboy Dan as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Leighty 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Alonso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Alonso misses with a lunging right hand
and Leighty counters with a leg kick.
Alonso has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alonso there as he acknowledges the shot.
Alonso tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Leighty throws a nice inside leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alonso lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leighty circles away quickly and effectively.
Alonso wants to clinch but Leighty slips to the side
and Leighty counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Alonso misses with an uppercut
and Leighty counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Leighty lands a body shot.
Leighty dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alonso closes the distance but Leighty moves to the side
and Leighty counters with a nice low kick that buckles Alonso's knee momentarily.
Alonso is breathing heavily.

Alonso throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Leighty counters with a stiff right hand.
Leighty fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crunch! Leighty slams his shin into Alonso's torso.

Leighty connects with a solid leg kick.
Leighty connects with a jab.
Leighty lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Good exchange - Leighty coming out on top.
Leighty cracks the inside of Alonso's front leg.
JW Alonso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alonso tries to move into range but Leighty moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Leighty scores with a jab to the head.
Leighty fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Alonso misses with a hook
and Leighty counters with a leg kick.
Leighty fakes the leg kick and cracks Alonso in the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alonso walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Leighty is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Leighty buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Leighty connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Alonso momentarily.
Leighty fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Alonso looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leighty closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Alonso takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Alonso takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Leighty lands a head shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alonso misses with a double jab
and Leighty counters with a good low kick that Alonso was not able to check.
Leighty with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Alonso takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Alonso falls off balance throwing a combination
and Leighty counters with a good low kick that Alonso was not able to check.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Leighty connects with a body shot.
Alonso swings widly with a right hand
and Leighty counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Leighty dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A solid leg kick lands there for Leighty.
Leighty lands the left hand.
Alonso is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Alonso misses with a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Leighty lands a nice hook to Alonso's body. Alonso takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Leighty lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Alonso on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alonso takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like JW Alonso has been cut.
Leighty jabs Alonso right on the nose. Alonso blinks but takes it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alonso darts in trying to clinch
and Leighty counters with a leg kick.

A slapping leg kick lands for Leighty.
Leighty has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice uppercut lands for Leighty. That snapped Alonso's head back.
Leighty scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Leighty lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Leighty throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alonso looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Leighty lands a left and a right that send Alonso crashing to the mat, dazed. Leighty thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Alonso is rocked!
Leighty cracks Alonso with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Alonso tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Leighty pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Alonso is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Leighty!
