Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thurston Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Hawthorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawthorn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sam & Dave - Soul Man. The key to victory for Thurston Moore has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Thurston Moore! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Marcus Hawthorn! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Hawthorn keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moore's efforts to push away. Hawthorn using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Moore wants to break free but Hawthorn has control.
Moore wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Moore wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hawthorn throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Moore blocks it with crossed arms. Moore wants to break free but Hawthorn has control.
Moore stops a takedown attempt from Hawthorn.
Hawthorn misses with an elbow over the top. Hawthorn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Moore gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Moore wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Moore pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Moore throws a one two combo.
Moore lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hawthorn is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hawthorn moves away from the strike by Moore. Hawthorn is still on wobbly legs! Can Moore finish him? Hawthorn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Moore. Hawthorn is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Moore just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! And now a right hook, right on the button! Hawthorn has gone limp, and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Thurston Moore! Thurston Moore retains his lightweight title!
