Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jowdi Marshall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rahen Fenko! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall lands a glancing blow to the side of Fenko's head. Marshall rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fenko throws a hook but Marshall avoids it easily. Fenko throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Fenko misses with a looping right. Marshall shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Marshall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Fenko throws a hook but Marshall avoids it easily. Marshall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Marshall slips a straight right by Fenko. A cross from Marshall lands. Marshall lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Fenko sprawling to the canvas. Marshall follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Fenko hang on?
It looks like Rahen Fenko has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Marshall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Marshall is controlling the pace.
Marshall lands with a punch from half guard. Marshall is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fenko! Fenko is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Marshall tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Marshall landing shots from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall landing strikes, looking to finish! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marshall controlling his opponent. Marshall landing punches. Marshall content just to control the position here. Marshall scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fenko is rocked! Marshall lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Fenko! Marshall sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Fenko and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jowdi Marshall!
