Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cyrus Viper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Mboma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cyrus Viper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joel Mboma! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Viper pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mboma shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Viper counters with a stiff right hand. Mboma with a poor takedown and Viper counters with a right hand to the body. Mboma closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Viper's guard. Mboma slips nicely into half guard. Viper trying to control from the bottom.
Mboma stalling. Mboma wants to pass the guard but Viper is defending well. Mboma seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. It looks like Mboma might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Viper is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Joel Mboma hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Viper slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Viper stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Viper wants it to stay on the feet. Cyrus Viper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joel Mboma. Viper scores with a hook to the body. Mboma takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Viper will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Viper lands a glancing blow to the side of Mboma's head. A left lands for Viper.
It looks like Joel Mboma has been cut. Mboma shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Viper napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mboma misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mboma is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Viper will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Viper parries the strikes from Mboma easily there. Mboma is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Viper to escape.
Mboma taking a breather here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joel Mboma hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Mboma manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Viper on his heels. He'll look to pass Viper's guard now, I'm sure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mboma is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joel Mboma has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Mboma gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Viper counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Viper stalks Mboma and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mboma's face. Mboma staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Viper tries to bum rush Mboma with a series of wild strikes but Mboma uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cyrus Viper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Viper tries to clinch but Mboma is having none of it. Viper connects with a crisp jab. Mboma has his takedown stuffed and Mboma takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Viper is looking to clinch but Mboma is avoiding it.
Mboma takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Mboma fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Viper avoids it really well and circles away. Mboma looks gassed! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Viper is looking to land body kicks. Viper swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Viper fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mboma looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cyrus Viper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joel Mboma's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mboma will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fight stays on the outside here - Viper looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Viper has managed to clinch.
Mboma fails to pull guard.
Viper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Viper jabs Mboma to the body, keeping him at a distance. Viper moves in looking to clinch but Mboma pushes him off. Viper lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Viper shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mboma eats them both and turns towards Viper to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mboma is rocked! Viper dips down and scores with a jab to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Viper steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Mboma is out on his feet! Viper sets himself and nearly takes Mboma's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Cyrus Viper!
