Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Beaulieu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Desmond Durden!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden slips a jab from Beaulieu.

Durden shoots in and bounces Beaulieu off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Beaulieu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Durden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Beaulieu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Durden has Beaulieu in his guard.

Durden looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Beaulieu passes into half guard.
Durden taking some punishment here, with Beaulieu in his half guard.
Durden tries to get to full guard but Beaulieu has control of the leg.
Beaulieu wants to control but Durden is keeping him busy.
Durden is looking for a sweep. Beaulieu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Durden actively working from the bottom here.
Durden wants to get back to full guard but Beaulieu has passed into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Durden can do anything to dispel that myth.
Durden takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Durden is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Durden is squirming around, avoiding Beaulieu's attempts to control the action.
Durden is desperately trying to improve his position but Beaulieu has a good base and remains in mount.
Durden looks gassed!
Durden takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A nice elbow there by Beaulieu.

Beaulieu jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Durden manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Durden is looking to regain half guard here but Beaulieu keeps moving and retains side control.
Durden is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Durden wants to get back to full guard.
Beaulieu wants to control but Durden is keeping him busy.
Durden tries to roll over but Beaulieu keeps him under control.
Beaulieu is tying to control. Durden wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Beaulieu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Desmond Durden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Beaulieu could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Beaulieu fails with a takedown attempt.
Durden throws a head kick but Beaulieu moves out of range.

Durden shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Beaulieu defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Durden.

Durden looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Durden is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Beaulieu is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Beaulieu flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Durden anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Beaulieu and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Durden slips an arm under Beaulieu chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Durden has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Durden is squeezing on Beaulieu like an anaconda would it's prey. Beaulieu fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Desmond Durden!
