Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vito Bartone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Grimaldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Grimaldi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vito Bartone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Grimaldi!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimaldi clinches with his opponent.
Grimaldi is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Grimaldi blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Grimaldi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bartone misses with a hook from the clinch.
Grimaldi is trying to push Bartone away but Bartone has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Grimaldi is pressed up against the cage. Bartone has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grimaldi down to the mat. Grimaldi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bartone displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grimaldi throws out the jab.
Bartone does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bartone moves away from the strike by Grimaldi.
Bartone takes a swing at Grimaldi's ribcage but misses.
Grimaldi throws a hook to the side of Bartone's head but Bartone sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Grimaldi misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Bartone to counter with a crisp jab.
Grimaldi misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bartone scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bartone throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Grimaldi was covering up waiting for the punch and Bartone finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bartone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bartone trying to control but Grimaldi is working from the bottom.
Bartone scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bartone postures up in Grimaldi's guard and throws a big left but Grimaldi blocks it.
Bartone trying to control the position from guard on top but Grimaldi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bartone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bartone won't allow Grimaldi to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bartone is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bartone wants to control from the top but Grimaldi keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bartone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grimaldi wants to get back to his feet but Bartone is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bartone is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Grimaldi looks gassed!
Bartone lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bartone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bartone throwing strikes but missing.
Bartone trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bartone is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bartone trying to control but Grimaldi is working from the bottom.
Grimaldi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bartone wants to control from the top but Grimaldi keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bartone drops back looking for a leg! Grimaldi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Grimaldi manages to kick Bartone off! Bartone jumps back into Grimaldi's guard.

Bartone slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vito Bartone dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bartone, right into the meat.
An inside leg kick lands from Bartone.
Grimaldi misses with a straight left.
Bartone scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Mike Grimaldi has been cut.
Grimaldi takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A good leg kick by Bartone.
Bartone throws a sloppy head kick and Grimaldi moves out of range easily.
Bartone fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Grimaldi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grimaldi defending well as Bartone loads up on a big left hand.
Grimaldi is breathing heavily.
Bartone is looking to clinch but Grimaldi is avoiding it.

A chopping leg kick lands by Bartone.
Bartone lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bartone lands a jab to Grimaldi's midsection.
Donk. Bartone catches Grimaldi right on the button with a cross.
Bartone decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bartone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grimaldi can do to turn this around?
Bartone is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Grimaldi!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grimaldi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bartone postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Grimaldi looks a forlorn figure.
That has opened up Mike Grimaldi's cut even more.
Bartone lands a nice shot to the head.
Mike Grimaldi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mike Grimaldi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Vito Bartone!
