The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tribbett drives through and clinches with Godoi against the cage.
Godoi wants a takedown.

Tribbett is trying to control but can't.
Tribbett is pressing down on Godoi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Godoi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Godoi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Godoi feints and as Tribbett raises his hands in defense, Godoi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tribbett moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Godoi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tribbett is working away from the top position though.

Godoi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tribbett is controlling him.

Tribbett wants to control from the top but Godoi keeps moving.
Tribbett is fighting to break Godoi's control of his arms but Godoi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Godoi shoots for a takedown but Tribbett saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Godoi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Godoi is defended easily by Tribbett.

Godoi quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Tribbett has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Godoi celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
