Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sub-Mission. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Dean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Cain Mir! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A slapping leg kick lands for Mir.
Dean leaves Mir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dean tries for a takedown but Mir sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mir.
Cain Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dean gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mir to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dean is breathing heavily. Mir pushing down on Dean's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Dean looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mir controlling the action here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. It looks like Mir might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Dean has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mir is working away from the top position though. Dean taking some punishment here, with Mir in his half guard. Dean is staying active underneath Mir, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mir is pressing down on Dean's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dean is holding on for now. Dean is not content to let Mir control the position. Mir is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cain Mir has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dean crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mir - the referee stops the clock and Dean gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mir. Dean manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Mir shoots in looking for a takedown. Dean tries to sprawl out of it but Mir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dean manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mir shoots in looking for a takedown but Dean manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mir's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Eddie Dean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Mir. Mir with a jab. Mir thows a body shot but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dean throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mir's waist but Mir gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dean off to one side. Mir connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dean momentarily.
Mir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dean keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Mir controlling from the top position. Mir looking to pass the guard. Dean controls Mir momentarily but Mir frees himself. Mir missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The referee asks Mir politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mir prefers to stall for the moment though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dean keeps working. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Dean tries to improve position but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mir working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Mir controls the position from side control. Dean takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Mir dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mir connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Mir looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mir takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Mir is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Dean actively working from the bottom here. Mir lands with a punch from half guard. Mir passes the guard and advances to mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mir raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir trying to control but Dean is having none of it. Mir lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dean hang on? Mir lands a big shot there that rocks Dean but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Dean taking shots to the head.
Dean is rocked! Mir tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Oh Dean is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A nice elbow there by Mir. Mir content just to control the position here. Mir looking to finish Dean with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dean! Dean is trying to escape the mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir lands a big shot to the head and Dean winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Cain Mir!
