Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pablo Gazzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Franz Greger!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazzi shoots and misses

and Greger counters with a takedown into side control.
Gazzi struggling a bit here.
Gazzi manages to get back to half guard.

Greger is trying to work for a kimura but Gazzi is defending well.
Gazzi is looking to control Greger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gazzi avoid being mounted?
Greger is keen to just control but Gazzi is a slippery customer.
Greger seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Greger throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Greger is trying to control. Gazzi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Greger wants to control but Gazzi is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Franz Greger.
Gazzi thuds his shin into the meat of Greger's side.
Greger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gazzi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gazzi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Greger counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gazzi won't be happy with that.
Gazzi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Gazzi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Greger sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gazzi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Greger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gazzi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Greger's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Greger doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Greger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gazzi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Greger looking for a sweep. Not yet Greger, not yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Franz Greger.
Greger tries to clinch up
and Gazzi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Greger throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gazzi was covering up waiting for the punch and Greger finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gazzi is breathing heavily.
Greger working some strikes from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gazzi trying to keep a closed guard but Greger is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Greger preventing the sweep.
Greger would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Greger pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gazzi is keeping the position for now.
Gazzi wants to sweep here but Greger controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Greger engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Franz Greger.
Greger will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franz Greger dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


No luck for Greger with that takedown attempt.
Gazzi tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Greger counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gazzi!
Greger wants to control the action but instead Gazzi gets a body lock and reverses into Greger's guard! Nice work!

Greger has an active guard here but Gazzi has managed to pass into half guard.
Gazzi wants to pass to mount but Greger is defending the position.
Greger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gazzi is working away from the top position though.

Gazzi is trying for a kimura here. Greger looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Gazzi wins by kimura!
